Description

On incorporating consumer behaviour into the supply chain planning of fresh products

The Be Fresh project aims to combat food waste by improving operational efficiency in the food value chain. The project, called Be Fresh - Integrating Consumer Behavior to Improve Food Value Chains, is aligned with three of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely to eradicate hunger, promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth and ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns. INESC TEC's project started in January 2022. Be Fresh - Integrating Consumer Behavior to Improve Food Value Chains will study consumer behavior regarding the permanence of products on the shelf, analyzing its impact and how it can be incorporated into the discount and production planning problems of various entities, from producers to retailers in the food chain.
