Abstract
Transmission expansion planning corresponds to a very relevant issue that should not be forgotten in the scope of the implementation of market mechanisms in the electricity sector. This paper describes a multicriteria model to perform transmission expansion planning exercises that combines probabilistic models to represent the reliability of system components with fuzzy models to incorporate the uncertainty on load evolution along the planning horizon. This formulation also outputs long-term marginal prices that can be used to compute the Marginal Based Remuneration. The paper includes a case study based on the Portuguese 400/220/150 kV transmission network.

Abstract
Classifying consumers, namely LV consumers, in order to assign them typical load diagrams, was always a concern of the electric utilities, which used this kind of information to better manage their distribution networks. Now, with the transition to a completely open market, the need for settlement between distribution operators and traders requires hourly consumption records that are not generally available, so deriving load diagrams for LV consumers is a mandatory task. This paper presents a new methodology for this purpose that uses typical diagrams obtained in measurement campaigns to create classes defined in the commercial information space that maximize the compactness of the diagrams in each class. The methodology was developed in a project with EDP (the Portuguese distribution operator) and the result will probably be adopted by the regulatory authority. © 2005 ISAP.

Abstract
We describe the architecture and the implementation of the MIKADO software framework, that we call IMC (Implementing Mobile Calculi). The framework aims at providing the programmer with primitives to design and implement run-time systems for distributed process calculi. The paper describes the four main components of abstract machines for mobile calculi (node topology, naming and binding, communication protocols and mobility) that have been implemented as Java packages. The paper also contains the description of a prototype implementation of a run-time system for the Distributed Pi-Calculus relying on the presented framework.

Abstract
This paper describes the research under development regarding the integration of several types of micro-source in LV distribution networks. This research is financed through an EU R&D project and tackles several scientific and technological related problems in the fields of micro-source electrical modelling, power system LV operational impact analysis, monitoring and control, power quality and network reliability, protection coordination and personnel safety, communications, economical and electrical market driven procedures and definition of new interconnection standards. In particular, in this paper we describe an approach to schedule micro-source generation and to validate that dispatch from a technical point of view using a lineraized optimization problem. The paper includes results from a case study developed in a LV test network used in the scope of the referred project.
