Abstract
The literature provides broad evidence for the seasonality of stock market returns, but is very scarce regarding the potential seasonality of investment funds performance. Using a sample of 5349 Equity Europe or Equity Eurozone investment funds, this article contributes to fill this gap by providing evidence that investment funds globally exhibit higher performances in the first than in the second 6 months of the year, and that they exhibit negative abnormal performances in the first compared to the intermediate and final months of each quarter. Finally, the article reports a summer holiday effect, such that investment funds outperform negatively in August compared to the other intermediate months of the quarter.

Abstract
The Geophysical Institute of the University of Porto (IGUP) constitutes an important pillar in the scientific and technological culture, developed over more than a century in the city of Porto. A strategic plan for its recovery has been recently developed. In terms of instruments there are currently some instruments related to seismology, meteorology and radiation, which are directly related to the measurement of variables involved in the estimation of seismic hazard and risk, meteorological hazards and radiological hazards. Thus IGUP has the potential to become a center for research in the field of Natural Hazards that in turn may contribute to studies, data and parameters for civil society and the scientific community. The Recovery that is already underway in seismic station, previously included as PTO in the world network known as Worldwide Standardized seismographic Network (WWSSN), can help achieve the implementation of a complex research in seismology and simultaneously acknowledging the geopolitical importance of this stations records. With the current work we intend to show a brief analysis of a few previously unknown seismic records, relating to Soviet nuclear explosions, as well as a few aspects of the the digital signal conversion adaptation of the previous 1960s analogue equipment.

SERVICE ORIENTATION IN HOLONIC AND MULTI-AGENT MANUFACTURING AND ROBOTICS
Abstract
This paper summarizes existing systems and research on information transport services, and proposes a hypothetic scenario for future travellers using public transport. Increased distributed intelligence in pervasive mobile smart devices and in sensor networks in public transport vehicles is enabling a new approach for enhancing the experience of public transport customers. Such environment could be modelled through a distributed multi-agent service system. This paper presents advanced information services already available on such environments, in particular the MOVE-ME smartphone application, and indicates a possible service environment where people's feedback may benefit all transport service stakeholders. Mobile computing and crowdsourcing are key enablers for enhancing user experience in the transport services, and also for enhancing overall public transport services. Better experience leads to increased usage of shared mobility modes, and therefore to more sustainable cities in the future. Concerns about data security, and anonymity of travellers will need to be adequately addressed in the future scenarios presented.

Abstract
For efficient planning of waste collection routing, large municipalities may be partitioned into convenient sectors. The real case under consideration is the municipality of Monção, in Portugal. Waste collection involves more than 1600 containers over an area of 220 km2 and a population of around 20,000 inhabitants. This is mostly a rural area where the population is distributed in small villages around the 33 boroughs centres (freguesia) that constitute the municipality. In most freguesias, waste collection is usually conducted 3 times a week. However, there are situations in which the same collection is done every day.
The case reveals some general and specific characteristics which are not rare, but are not widely addressed in the literature. Furthermore, new methods and models to deal with sectorization and routing are introduced, which can be extended to other applications. Sectorization and routing are tackled following a three-phase approach. The first phase, which is the main concern of the presentation, introduces a new method for sectorization inspired by Electromagnetism and Coulomb’s Law. The matter is not only about territorial division, but also the frequency of waste collection, which is a critical issue in these types of applications. Special characteristics related to the number and type of deposition points were also a motivation for this work. The second phase addresses the routing problems in each sector: new Mixed Capacitated Arc Routing with Limited Multi-Landfills models will be presented. The last phase integrates Sectoring and Routing.
Computational results confirm the effectiveness of the entire novel approach.

Abstract
Serious Games is a field of research that has evolved substantially with valuable contributions to many application domains and areas. Patients often consider traditional rehabilitation approaches to be repetitive and boring, making it difficult for them to maintain their ongoing interest and to assure the completion of the treatment program. This paper reviews Serious Games and the natural and multimodal user interfaces for the health rehabilitation domain. Specifically, it details a framework for the development of Serious Games that integrates a rich set of features that can be used to improve the designed games with direct benefits to the rehabilitation process. Highlighted features include natural and multimodal interaction, social skills (collaboration and competitiveness) and progress monitoring. Due to the rich set of features supported by the framework, the games' rehabilitation efficacy can be enhanced primarily from an increase in the patient's motivation when exercising the rehabilitation tasks.
