Automatic Visual Inspection of Turbo Vanes produced by Investment Casting Process

Abstract
Visual inspection based systems are important tools to ensure the quality of manufactured parts in industry. This work presents an automatic visual inspection approach for defect detection in turbo vanes in the investment casting industry. The proposed method uses RANSAC for robust line and circle detection to extract relevant information to discriminate between a good part and a defected one. Then, using this data a feature vector is created serving as input to a SVM classifier that after the training phase is able to discriminate and classify between a good sample or not. To test the proposed approach a private database was created containing 650 turbo vanes (which gives 2600 different samples to train and test). On this database the proposed method achieved an average accuracy of 99.96%, an average false negative rate of 0.00% and an average false positive rate of 0.05%, using a 5-fold cross validation protocol, which demonstrates the success of the proposed method. Moreover, the proposed image processing pipeline was deployed into Raspberry Pi 4 Model B part of a visual inspection machine, and is working daily at ZCP-Zollern and Comandita Portugal, which proves the method's robustness.

The determinants of tourism products online shopping by spanish consumers [Determinantes de la compra online de productos turísticos por los consumidores españoles]

Abstract
Tourism products online shopping is increasing with e-commerce development that stimulated the creation of several platforms in the recent years. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence of some determinants of tourism products online shopping, as the risk associated with this behavior, and travel agencies versus digital marketing tools perceived usefulness. This research used a survey method applied to 343 Spanish consumers from Salamanca region with personal interviews. To analyze the data, it was used structural equation modelling. Because tourism products online shopping risk influence negatively consumers’ attitude toward it, this need to be worked by tourism practitioners and, for segments averse to that risk, travel agencies distribution channel have higher perceived usefulness and can be a better option. On other hand, this research evidenced the importance of digital marketing tools as website, mobile devices and online booking because their perceived usefulness affect the attitude and behavior toward online shopping of tourism products.

Operational optimisation framework improving DSO/TSO coordination demonstrated in real network operation

Abstract
The study at hand describes the state of the art regulatory framework for managing the distribution system operator (DSO)/transmission system operator (TSO) interface including information about the available flexibility data and access rights of the different grid operators. It describes a possible future procedure to manage this interface using software tools to support this coordination performing grid analysis and providing active as well as reactive power flexibility information at several TSO–DSO interconnection points. The proposed study gives a short overview of two optimisation approaches/software tools with different application functionalities, developed and adapted to meet the demands coming up with such tasks, performed within the European project ‘EU-SysFlex’. Both tools contribute to the objective of optimising available flexibility resources connected to meshed distribution grids with multiple grid connection points to the transmission grid. The investigations/calculations are performed using a real existing high-voltage grid of MITNETZ STROM. Using the outputs, provided by both tools, the demonstrator aims at providing beneficiary results for the discussion of how to evolve the regulatory framework. The functionality of the developed algorithms of both optimisation tools is evaluated and investigated by means of a live field test.

Abstract
The emergence and evolution of Digital Platforms in different sectors of society has caused significant changes in their way of living and operating. In education, the use and construction of these platforms is a reality in continuous expansion, now enhanced by the pandemic, due to the need for physical isolation. However, in order to understand their evolution in education and the transformations it has caused in the habitation of teaching and learning, is necessary to analyze, in addition to the digital technological evolution in relation to the type of connectivity, the understanding of education implicit in it’s architecture, evidenced by the possibilities it offers for the teaching and learning processes to develop. We propose a conceptual framework that allows us to understand digital interaction platforms as a complex relational ecology that carries a specific communicative way of living. In this context, we created a typology that resulted in four main models: Platforms for providing and accessing content, Interactive Platforms, Open World Platforms and Ecological Interaction Platforms. The latter, due to its openness and because it allows for a network connection, hybrid between different entities, gives them a symbiotic «living» ecosystem character, which would allow us to name as Inventive Connective Ecosystem Platforms.

Abstract
This chapter presents an in-depth study of the current situation of mobile ticketing services in the context of urban passenger transport, and points out future trends and directions that will define forthcoming versions of mobile ticketing services. It defines mobile ticketing services and presents the technologies most used to deliver these solutions. This is complemented by a survey of research studies and experiences of deployments in a real environment. The mobile ticketing ecosystem is then deeply explored, where key players are identified as well as their key drivers and concerns regarding mobile ticketing services. Finally, future trends and research opportunities regarding mobile ticketing solutions are presented.

Understanding the customer experience with smart services

Abstract
Purpose This article provides an in-depth understanding of customer experience with smart services, examines customer perceptual responses to smart and connected service environments and enriches this understanding by outlining how contextual factors (in terms of goals, activities, actors and artifacts) influence the customer experience. Design/methodology/approach This study adopts a qualitative approach in order to understand customer experience in the smart energy service setting. Semi-structured interviews and focus groups were conducted with 31 participants forming three groups of energy service customers: advanced smart energy (ASE) customers, electric mobility (EM) customers and high-consumption (HC) customers. Findings The findings show that customer experience with smart services involves a multidimensional set of perceptual responses, comprising specific smart service dimensions (e.g. controllability, visibility, autonomy); relationship dimensions (relationships with the service provider and with the community); and traditional technology-enabled service dimensions (e.g. ease of use, accessibility). The analysis of contextual factors such as goals, activities, actors and artifacts shows that smart services enable a more autonomous experience, wherein customers can integrate a myriad of actors and artifacts and expect the main service provider to support them in taking the lead. Originality/value Smart technologies have profoundly changed the service environment, but research on customer experience with smart services is scarce. This study characterizes smart services, provides an in-depth understanding of customer experience in this new context, and discusses relevant implications for management and service research.
