SMARTBOGIE – Solução Inovadora para a Mobilidade Ferroviária de Mercadorias

The SMARTBOGIE project aims to design and develop a fully sensorized intelligent Y25 bogie prototype for freight railway transport. The initiative addresses major challenges in the national and European railway sector, including the lack of advanced technological solutions, the growing demand for rail freight transport, Europe’s dependence on external suppliers, and the need to meet decarbonization targets. The project focuses on innovation through the development of a lighter bogie with sensing systems seamlessly integrated into the chassis, contributing to a more efficient, autonomous, sustainable, and competitive freight railway transport system.
