Holistic Approach towards Empowerment of the DiGitalization of the Energy Ecosystem through adoption of IoT solutions

As our world increasingly relies on renewable energy sources, energy systems face unprecedented challenges, and there's a need for new approaches and thorough transformation in common practices. The EU-funded HEDGE-IoT project aims to revolutionise the digitalisation of European energy systems by exploiting advantages of IoT technologies, deployed at different levels of the power systems, through an interoperable and standardised digital framework. Bridging the edge-cloud continuum through computational orchestration and federated learning traits lies at the centre of the project's activities. The HEDGE-IoT ecosystem will pave the way towards increased grid flexibility, enhanced hosting capacity of renewable energy sources, and a more robust and resilient power system operation. The overall aim is to expand market opportunities and promote advancements in IoT standardisation.
