Alípio Torre is the Assistant Director of the Carnegie Mellon Portugal Program, an international partnership funded by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, that brings together Portuguese universities, research institutions and companies, and Carnegie Mellon University. The Program’s management is hosted at INESC TEC. Alípio is also the coordinator of the COHiTEC Program, a high-tech high-growth startup accelerator training program, for COTEC Portugal, a portuguese business association dedicated to the promotion of innovation and best practices in this field. He is an invited professor at the University of Porto, in the Faculdade de Economia, in the fields of innovation, technology management and tech-based entrepreneurship. Prior experiences include being responsible for project development and pipeline in the Technology Commercialisation Accelerator (ACT) at COTEC Portugal and serving as Business Development Manager of Critical Materials, a technological startup focused on the development of material and structural monitoring systems for the aeronautical, space and defense industries.  Alípio Torre holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Porto and a MBA in Management from Porto Business School.
