The future of distributed systems was discussed in the city of Porto, with INESC TEC organising one of the most relevant international conferences in this field, in partnership with the University of Minho, TecMinho and Porto Business School. The International Symposium on Reliable Distributed Systems (SRDS 2025) took place from 29 September to 2 October 2025, marking the 44th edition of this initiative.

The journey began in Ulm, Germany, with the participation in an international conference dedicated to analytical spectroscopy. It then moved on to Brno, Czechia, for a visit to the Central European Institute of Technology to join an international symposium on advanced measurement, analysis, and control for energy and the environment. INESC TEC led the first analog space mission carried out within a habitat in Portugal. The Monsaraz Mars Analog Mission took place between 13 and 25 October in the outdoor area of the Observatório Astronómico do Lago-Alqueva (OLA), in Monsaraz; Ana Pires and Diogo Paupério represented INESC TEC in this endeavour.
