Interoperability of ocean digital twins featuring INESC TEC

From Brussels to Glasgow, INESC TEC boosted advances in interoperability and portability of models, services, processes and data associated with ocean digital twins. At both the EDITO Digital Ocean Forum and the AGU Ocean Sciences Meeting 2026, the outcomes of the Iliad project took centre stage within the ambition to create a digital twin of European seas.

INESC TEC among the authors of new position paper on the importance of virtual worlds for European defence

Position Paper on Virtual Worlds Technologies for Defence is INESC TEC’s latest contribution to European public policy. The document, now available, is the result of a series of workshops organised in March 2026 by the Virtual Worlds Association within the scope of the European Partnership for Virtual Worlds – supported by the European Commission. INESC TEC, represented by researcher Fernando Cassola, was among the contributors involved in drafting the paper.
