Abstract
The main purpose of this paper is to present a preliminary study on the impact of stratospheric ozone on tropospheric ozone levels under specific atmospheric dynamical conditions. It is well accepted that stratospheric ozone can be the source of part of the tropospheric ozone. Previous studies indicate that the mechanism responsible for this ozone intrusion occurs generally in several steps or just in a single step, usually associated with strong upward motion. In the first part of this paper, the methodology used in order to identify particular short-term episodes, potentially associated to the abovementioned phenomenon, is presented. Several episodes have been studied occurring during 14 years of ozone data collection, recorded by the Portuguese ozone network. Then, an analysis of the dynamical atmospheric conditions associated to previously identified episodes have been developed in order to verify the possibility of stratospheric contribution for the observed ozone level in each episode. Two of these episodes show a relatively good relationship between synoptical patterns related to stratospheric intrusions and backward trajectories. For these cases, the possibility of stratospheric origin should not be discarded before further study is developed.

PROCESSES AND FOUNDATIONS FOR VIRTUAL ORGANIZATIONS
Abstract
Collaborative Networks (CN) and Virtual Organisations (VO) can partially be modelled by using Graph Theory, as a natural framework for describing relationships, interactions and collaboration. Our work aims at extending and integrating results from that theory and other different fields and scientific disciplines, to enable modelling complex and non tangible factors, dynamics, trade-offs between individual and common objectives, arising in the set-up and management of VO. As a way to handle these issues in a holistic way, we present extensions of Social Actors Networks that are able to encompass various, complementary perspectives in dealing with VO, and coping with the different phases of its life cycle. Current results seem promising in the direction of creating a sound frame work for modelling and supporting holistic process management in Collaborative Networks. For illustration purposes a simple case study is briefly sketched and some findings presented. Finally sortie open issues are surveyed and lines for future research identified.

EADOPTION AND THE KNOWLEDGE ECONOMY: ISSUES, APPLICATIONS, CASE STUDIES, PTS 1 AND 2
Abstract
This paper presents the INFOVINI project that aims to be the leading portal for the wine industry in Portugal. The basic idea is simple, yet powerful: to have a single entry point for all the latest information on Portuguese wines. The site will build upon the experience gained from a previous project, e-Mercatura, and will be based in an open platform that will enhance the collaboration between organizations in the sector. The innovative approach lies not only in the completeness of the database, which will be unique in Portugal, but also in the platform built in order to assure automatic update of the information. The INFOVINI project represents an extremely important contribution to a new way of working, promoting collaborative processes across organizations, and projecting a new image of Portuguese wines in foreign markets.

Abstract
This paper proposes an integrated approach of genetic algorithms, Tabu search and simulated annealing for multi-stage (dynamic) transmission network expansion planning. The proposed algorithm integrates the most interesting and best features of the above individual algorithms. The efficiency and reliability of the proposed algorithm is proved with the modified Garver's six-bus network. Finally, a real-world application (Sri Lankan transmission network) of the integrated algorithm is presented for multi-stage transmission expansion planning.
