Abstract
This paper proposes a methodology for the development of collaborative (agent-based) production systems, using High-Level Petri nets. The proposed methodology supports the development life-cycle from specifications analysis through to design-validation and implementation of collaborative and re-configurable production systems and their control systems, in an integrated manner. It covers a wide spectrum of application domains, ranging from intelligent mechatronic devices to multi-agent distributed manufacturing control systems.

Abstract
The use of semiconductor nano-particles as temperature probes in luminescence chemical sensing applications is addressed. Temperature changes the intensity, the peak wavelength and the spectral width of the quantum dots luminescent emission in a linear and reversible way. Results are presented that show the feasibility of implementing a self-referenced intensity-based sensor to perform temperature measurements independent of the optical power level in the sensing system. A resolution of 0.3 degrees C was achieved. In addition, it is demonstrated that self-referenced temperature measurements at multiple points could be performed using reflection or transmission based optical fibre configurations.

Abstract
Enterprises need to automate manual and routine aspects of IT infrastructure management. In this paper a new concept that integrates different autonomous and management level applications through Instant Messaging protocol (XMPP) is introduced. This is achieved by means of a common management information model implemented in LDAP. A content language implemented in XML is also described, allowing autonomous application integration to carry out management tasks dynamically.

Abstract
Following the work of Al-Riyami et al. we define the notion of key encapsulation mechanism supporting cryptographic workflow (WF-KEM) and prove a KEM-DEM composition theorem which extends the notion of hybrid encryption to cryptographic workflow. We then generically construct a WF-KEM from an identity-based encryption (IBE) scheme and a secret sharing scheme. Chosen ciphertext security is achieved using one-time signatures. Adding a public-key encryption scheme we are able to modify the construction to obtain escrow-freeness. We prove all our constructions secure in the standard model.

Abstract
The design of high performance induction motor drives is a complex task, and the every day compelling requirements in energy efficiency and performance assumes the motivation on finding a more integrated solution on implementing induction motor control. The main subjects of this paper are two: to discuss the IFOC one-chip solution and to explore the development of simple graphical applications in order to operate this control in a simple and effective way. Experimental results are presented to illustrate the main points of our paper.
