Fractional dynamics in particle swarm optimization

Abstract
This paper studies the fractional dynamics during the evolution of a Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). Some swarm particles of the initial population are randomly changed for stimulating the system response. After the result is compared with a reference situation. The perturbation effect in the PSO evolution is observed in the perspective of the time behavior of the fitness of the best individual position visited by the replaced particles. The dynamics is investigated through the median of a sample of experiments, while adopting the Fourier analysis for describing the phenomena. The influence of the PSO parameters upon the global dynamics is also analyzed by performing several experiments for distinct values.

Abstract
One of the present day challenges in RoboCup is the development of Open Co-operative teams, where different research labs join efforts to build a common team. Such teams bring together robots with heterogeneous hardware, architectures and control software, which hinders straightforward co-operation. The robots in these teams might co-operate through a-priori strategic knowledge and structured communication during the game. This paper presents the kernel of a communication framework, defining a robotic soccer vocabulary, as well as rules to manage communication.

Subjective evaluation of immersive Sound Field Rendition system and recent enhancements

Abstract
Consumer audio applications such as satellite radio broadcasts, multi-channel audio streaming and playback systems coupled with the need to meet stringent bandwidth requirements are eliciting newer challenges in parametric multichannel audio coding schemes. This paper describes the continuation of our research concerning the Immersive Soundfield Rendition (ISR) system. In particular we present detailed subjective result data benchmarking the ISR system in comparison to MPEG Surround and also characterizing the audio quality level at different sub-modes of the system. We also describe enhancements to various algorithmic components in particular the blind 2-to-5 channel upmixing algorithm and describe a novel scheme for providing enhanced stereo downmix at the receiver for improved decoding by conventional matrix decoding systems.

Abstract
We show that, using our more or less established framework of inductive definition of real-valued functions (work started by Cristopher Moore in [9]) together with ideas and concepts of standard computability we can prove theorems of Analysis. Then we will consider our ideas as a bridging tool between the standard Theory of Computability (and Complexity) on one side and Mathematical Analysis on the other, making real recursive functions a possible branch of Descriptive Set Theory. What follows is an Extended Abstract directed to a large audience of CiE 2007, Special Session on Logic and New Paradigms of Computability. Static-priority scheduling over wireless networks with multiple broadcast domains

Abstract
We propose a wireless medium access control (AMC) protocol that provides static-priority scheduling of messages in a guaranteed collision-free manner. Our protocol supports multiple broadcast domains, resolves the wireless hidden node problem and allows for parallel transmissions across a mesh network. Arbitration of messages is achieved without the notion of a master coordinating node, global clock synchronization or out-of-band signalling. The protocol relies on bit-dominance similar to what is used in the CAN bus except that in order to operate on a wireless physical layer, nodes are not required to receive incoming bits while transmitting. The use of bit-dominance efficiently allows for a much larger number of priorities than would be possible using existing wireless solutions. A AMC protocol with these properties enables schedulability analysis of sporadic message streams in wireless multihop networks.
