Abstract
Participatory processes are an essential aspect of collaborative planning and decision-making processes, but designing such processes effectively can be quite challenging. This work departs from the assumptions that in sustainable urban mobility planning, the functional urban area needs to be considered, and that citizen engagement is often enacted at the neighborhood level. Under these assumptions, we have examined the experiences of 6 metropolitan cases (Bologna, Nantes, Manchester, Montreal, Christchurch, and Santiago de Chile) and draw insights from their experiences. We conclude this work with some general reflections on the importance of systemic approaches to effectively plan for sustainable transitions in urban mobility.

Abstract
Precision spraying in agriculture is crucial for optimizing the application of pesticides while minimizing environmental impact. Despite significant advancements in control models for spraying systems, predictive control algorithms were not used. This paper addresses this gap by proposing a real-time control framework that integrates predictive control strategies to ensure consistent pressure output in a trailer sprayer. Based on information from various sensors, the framework anticipates and adapts to dynamic environmental conditions, enhancing accuracy and sustainability in spraying practices. A methodology is developed to define a proportional valve model. Based on this valve model, the predictive control model optimizes valve movements to minimize errors between predicted and reference pressures, thereby improving spraying efficiency. This study demonstrates the viability of predictive control in improving precision spraying systems applicable to autonomous robots, encouraging future advances in agricultural spraying technologies.

SERVICE ORIENTED, HOLONIC AND MULTI-AGENT MANUFACTURING SYSTEMS FOR INDUSTRY OF THE FUTURE, SOHOMA 2023
Abstract
The manufacturing domain faces a challenge in making timely decisions due to the large amounts of data generated by digital technologies such as Internet-of-Things, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Digital Twin, and Big Data. By integrating recommendation systems is possible to support the decision-makers in handling large amounts of data by delivering personalised, accurate, and quality recommendations. One example is the SimQL recommendation model that incorporates AI algorithms with trust and similarity measures to enhance recommendation quality. This paper aims to analyse the sensitivity of the SimQL model's parameters, such as dataset conditions, trust and learning factors, and their impact on the final recommendation quality. A fuzzy logic approach is employed to evaluate the model and identify optimal operating conditions for the recommendation system. By implementing the findings of this study, manufacturers can improve the acceptance and adoption of the SimQL trustworthy recommendation system in this field.

Abstract
Road network studies attracted unprecedented and overwhelming interest in recent years due to the clear relationship between human existence and city evolution. Current studies cover many aspects of a road network, for example, road feature extraction from video/image data, road map generalisation, traffic simulation, optimisation of optimal route finding problems, and traffic state prediction. However, analysing road networks as a complex graph is a field to explore. This study presents comparative studies on the Porto, in Portugal, road network sections, mainly of Matosinhos, Paranhos, and Maia municipalities, regarding degree distributions, clustering coefficients, centrality measures, connected components, k-nearest neighbours, and shortest paths. Further insights into the networks took into account the community structures, page rank, and small-world analysis. The results show that the information exchange efficiency of Matosinhos is 0.8, which is 10 and 12.8% more significant than that of the Maia and Paranhos networks, respectively. Other findings stated are: (1) the studied road networks are very accessible and densely linked; (2) they are small-world in nature, with an average length of the shortest pathways between any two roads of 29.17 units, which as found in the scenario of the Maia road network; and (3) the most critical intersections of the studied network are 'Avenida da Boavista, 4100-119 Porto (latitude: 41.157944, longitude: - 8.629105)', and 'Autoestrada do Norte, Porto (latitude: 41.1687869, longitude: - 8.6400656)', based on the analysis of centrality measures.

ELECTROCHIMICA ACTA
Abstract
Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) are biomimetic materials of great interest in the scientific and industrial fields for the development of innovative sensing strategies. Herein, we proposed a new sensing application by developing an electrochemical sensor using molecular imprinting (MI) technology for recognition of atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) both as a free molecule in solution and attached to nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems (DDSs), aiming to provide fast and reliable information on the cell uptake of nanoparticles (NPs). As proof of concept, poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) NPs were synthesized and used as nanocarriers for ischemic heart disease therapy were synthesized and then functionalized with ANP (named here as PLGANPs@ANP). The MIP receptor film was prepared by electrochemical polymerization of dopamine over the working area of a gold screen-printed electrode (AuSPE), using cyclic voltammetry (CV) technique. The construction of the ANP sensor was carefully optimized to enhance its performance, including the film thickness and the procedures for effective template extraction from the MIP matrix. The MIP biosensor presented a linear response against polymeric NPs (PLGA-NPs@ANP) concentration logarithm ranging from 4.0 mu g mL(-1) to 100 mu g mL(-1), with a sensitivity of - 0.0129 mA mL mu g(-1) decade(-1) and an LOD < 4.0 g mL(-1). Furthermore, the developed MIP receptor film was able to discriminate ANP-functionalized nanocarriers from non-functionalized NPs.

Abstract
This article addresses the implementation of Business Intelligence (BI) systems in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), focusing on developing an appropriate data architecture that meets the specificities and requirements of this sector. With the rapid advance of information technologies, HEIs face the growing challenge of managing a considerable volume of data, making it essential to implement BI systems that support informed and efficient decision-making. Using the Design Science Research methodology, this study proposes a BI architecture model that aligns technologies with HEIs' academic and administrative needs and facilitates their integration and ongoing maintenance. The model is designed to be flexible and scalable, allowing adaptations as institutional needs evolve. The article describes the architecture development process, from initial planning to implementation, and discusses how this framework can significantly improve data management and the quality of decision-making processes in educational institutions. The research offers practical and theoretical insights for academics and managers seeking to optimize the use of BI in educational contexts.
