DISCRETE AND CONTINUOUS DYNAMICAL SYSTEMS
Abstract
We study a Cournot duopoly model using Ferreira-Oliveira-Pinto's R&D investment function. We find the multiple perfect Nash equilibria and we analyse the economical relevant quantities like output levels, prices, consumer surplus, profits and welfare.

Abstract
Recent studies show that there is no method to develop a Dublin Core Application Profile (DCAP). A DCAP is a very important construct to implement interoperability, therefore it is essential to have a method to be able to develop such a construct, in order to give DCAP developers a common ground of work. This paper presents the first version of a method to develop Dublin Core Application Profiles (Me4DACP V0.1) that has been developed in a PhD project with a Design Science Research (DSR) approach. Me4DCAP was built having as starting point the Singapore Framework for DCAP and shows the way through the DCAP development. It encompasses a group of pre-defined interconnected activities, explicitly states when they should take place, what techniques could be used to execute them and what artifacts should result from their execution. © 2013 - IOS Press and the authors.

Abstract
The effective creation and management of business networks is more and more an important contribution for the competitiveness and sustainability of European SMEs. In Non-hierarchical networks SMEs join their competencies and resources to grab profitable business opportunities. In these networks SMEs take the leading role and control the business instead of being subcontracted by large companies and traditional supply chains. This paper presents a conceptual framework, including methodological approach, best practices and reference processes aiming at supporting SMEs in creating and managing non-hierarchical networks for complex products design and manufacturing. The framework high level structure and the most specific processes are presented, including: capacity management, collaborative operations planning, risk and event management and performance management. The framework was validated in three pilot networks, from the textile, footwear and machine tools industries. (C) 2013 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

Abstract
Cardiovascular variability and homeostasis control in response to precise noxious stimuli and different analgesic doses were analyzed. Cardiovascular variability was altered in response to noxious stimulation, and amplitude responses varied in a dose-dependent manner with the analgesic. Responses were more pronounced to laringoscopy/intubation, when compared to tetanic and incision stimuli. Homeostasis control was also altered in response to stimulation, demonstrating that dynamic cardiovascular control relations are modified in response to precise noxious stimuli and anesthetic drugs.
