Abstract
A simple optical inclinometer based on a phase-shifted Bragg grating in a taper configuration is proposed. Two phase-shifted fiber Bragg gratings were fabricated using a DUV femtosecond laser technique in the taper region, with taper waist diameters of 30 mu m and 50 mu m. Both sensing heads were compared based on their response to angle and strain. Whereas the higher diameter sensor yielded a higher sensitivity to curvature (23.8 +/- 0.3 pm/degree), the lower diameter one was more sensitive to strain (8.94 +/- 0.04 pm/mu epsilon).

ROCK ENGINEERING AND ROCK MECHANICS: STRUCTURES IN AND ON ROCK MASSES
Abstract
This work addresses the rock matrix strength comparative analysis on rocky coasts. A coastal geoengineering integrated system for rocky coast assessment was proposed and applied in two fissured granitic key-sites in NW Iberia (NW Portugal, and Galicia). The main stages of the study comprise six steps: (i) high-resolution aerial imagery survey; (ii) visual inspection and systematic monitoring; (iii) applied field datasheet; (iv) in situ evaluation; (v) scanline survey; (vi) coastal geosciences engineering GIS based mapping. The Schmidt Hammer and Equotip tester were applied to measure the rebound and hardness, respectively, in rocky platforms, geoforms and coastal boulders. Moreover a detailed description of discontinuities and a geologic-geotechnical evaluation in the rocky platforms was performed. The current rock project is of great interest especially to highly dynamic coastal areas. This approach evolving geomorphic processes, geoengineering issues and geomechanical testing assessment contributes to support coastal management/planning.

Abstract
The recent past has shown that many companies stressed from the competition, have reduced manufacturing costs as well implemented sustainable practices as much as possible. And yet this effort has proved to be insufficient. This reality is forcing the companies and managers to address the problem of competitiveness
and sustainability in a holistic way, by considering the entire supply chain. Due to this pressure from supply chain stakeholders to a comprehensive sustainability assessment of the entire network, extended “performance metrics” are required not only on the economic value of a business, but also in its environmental and social impacts. Increasing numbers of organizations report a massive volume of data, with low consistency and high variability in data quality, and a dispersion of indicators, making it necessary to develop and implement new approaches for Supply Cain Management (SCM) sustainable performance assessment. This paper focuses on this topic, presenting a new approach for performance and risk assessment within dynamic supply chain networks, supported in a new and comprehensive Sustainability Assessment Framework (SAF).

Abstract
Spreadsheets are widely used not only to define mathematical expressions, but also to store large and complex data. To query such data is usually a difficult task to perform, usually for end user. In this work we embed the textual query language in the model-driven spreadsheet environment as a spreadsheet itself. The result is an expressive and powerful query environment that has knowledge of the business logic defined by the spreadsheet data (the spreadsheet model) to guide end users constructing correct queries.
