Abstract
Reliable consumption forecasts are crucial in several aspects of power and energy systems, e.g. to take advantage of the full potential of flexibility from consumers and to support the management from operators. With this need, several methodologies for electricity forecasting have emerged. However, the study of correlated external variables, such as temperature or luminosity, is still far from adequate. This paper presents the application of the Wang and Mendel's Fuzzy Rule Learning Method (WM) to forecast electricity consumption. The proposed approach includes two distinct strategies, the first one uses only the electricity consumption as the input of the method, and the second strategy considers a combination of the electricity consumption and the environmental temperature as the input, in order to extract value from the correlation between the two variables. A case study that considers the forecast of the energy consumption of a real office building is also presented. Results show that the WM method using the combination of energy consumption data and environmental temperature is able to provide more reliable forecasts for the energy consumption than several other methods experimented before, namely based on artificial neural networks and support vector machines. Additionally, the WM approach that considers the combination of input values achieves better results than the strategy that considers only the consumption history, hence concluding that WM is appropriate to incorporate different information sources.

SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT-AN INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL

Abstract
Purpose - The importance of innovation as a generator of competitive advantage and the collaborative nature of this process are recurring themes in the literature. This paper aims to contribute to the improvement of knowledge about the relationship between supply chains and the innovation process by means of a systematic literature review. Methodology/approach - The method used consists of the identification, selection, analysis and synthesis of existing research on the subject and aims to ensure that the review is transparent, auditable and replicable. This paper presents the analysis of 94 papers from 37 journals and the major contributions are explored. Findings - The identification and analysis of relevant articles showed the complexity, timeliness and the wide-ranging character of the theme. The analysis of articles allowed the identification of facilitators of the innovation process, as well as five approaches applicable to supply chains to drive the innovation process. From these analyses, a model synthesising the main practices identified for improving innovation performance is presented. Research limitations/implications - When carrying out literature reviews, the selection of articles might be considered subjective. To circumvent this limitation, the papers have been assessed by three researchers. Practical implications - The results presented can be applied in the decision-making process by managers in the areas of innovation and supply chain. Originality/value - This paper synthesises knowledge involving the relationships between supply chains and the innovation process. The analysis is based on quantitative and qualitative criteria.

2016 13TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON THE EUROPEAN ENERGY MARKET (EEM)

Abstract
Power industry has been deeply restructured in recent decades. Along this period vertically integrated structures evolved to more disaggregated models in which some activities are now provided under competition as generation and retailing while some others are provided under regulated monopolies as network transmission and distribution. Simultaneously, most countries started to encourage the use of renewable sources, namely to cope with environmental issues and to enlarge the energy independency. Having in mind these ideas and given the development of the Iberian Electricity Market and the increase of the installed capacity in units paid by feed-in tariffs, it becomes important to estimate the impact of this feed-in generation in the market prices. This paper describes the approach that was developed to estimate this impact and the implemented software application. This application was then used to evaluate the impact on prices on all trading hours of 2013 of the Portuguese photovoltaic generation, the Portuguese wind generation, all the Portuguese feed-in generation and also all the Iberian feed-in generation.

NEW ADVANCES IN INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGIES, VOL 2

Abstract
Since the dawn of human civilization that cooperation among individuals is observed. In the most primitive stage this phenomenon was manifested through hunting groups, progressing to the construction of objects and buildings and in a later phase in the construction of modem society itself. Nowadays with the advent of technology and rise of ICT, collaborative processes across workgroups in organizations have been increasingly supported by this concept. The use of technology for supporting collaborative processes of working groups led to the creation of areas of study as CSCW and Groupware. In the health area, collaborative platforms have been used for supporting medical distance learning, social networks for collaboration, patient monitoring, discussion forums and sharing of medical media content. This paper has the goal of analyzing teclmological advances and the application of collaborative platforms in the health area, through an exploratory work of literature and application analysis and discussion.

NEW ADVANCES IN INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGIES, VOL 1

Abstract
In recent years Serious Games have gained a new importance, very driven by the proliferation of video games and its application in diverse areas. Cognitive rehabilitation is a major area where Serious Games can assume a relevant role. Traditional cognitive therapies quickly become repetitive and discouraging for patients. To mitigate these problems, Serious Games based tools are necessary to create more dynamic rehabilitation processes, holding the attention of the patients throughout the process and motivating them during their road to recovery. This paper describes a web platform for Serious Games in cognitive rehabilitation that integrates a set of features that include natural and multimodal user interfaces and social features (collaboration, competition and handicapping) which can be used to augment the motivation of patients during the rehabilitation process. Results observed in a study with healthy subjects indicate that the platform offers good usability.

3º Encontro sobre Jogos e Mobile Learning
