Abstract
The development of information retrieval algorithms and temporal information retrieval ones has been extensively carried out over the last few years. While several studies have been conducted, most of these researches relate to English, leading to a lack of knowledge in several other important languages. This includes the Persian one. In this work, we aim to shorten this gap by contributing, disseminating and enlarging the knowledge we have on temporal information retrieval aspects in Persian, which is one of the dominant languages in the Middle East, widely spoken in several countries. To achieve this objective, we propose to understand the use of temporal expressions on a large-scale Persian search engine query log consisting of 27M queries. In particular, we focus on explicit (e.g., June 2017) and relative temporal expressions (e.g., tomorrow) and try to understand (1) how often temporal expressions are used in web queries; (2) which type of temporal expressions (Date, Time, Duration and Set) are commonly used; (3) to which time (past, current or future) do temporal expressions mostly refer to; (4) to which category they often belong; (5) how often do user's reformulate their queries by adding temporal expressions; and (6) how using temporal expressions affects user's satisfaction. We believe that answering these questions may be beneficial for a large number of tasks including, user's behavior understanding and search engines' improvement effectiveness.

Abstract
Machine Learning (ML) has been successfully applied to a wide range of domains and applications. Since the number of ML applications is growing, there is a need for tools that boost the data scientist's productivity. Automated Machine Learning (AutoML) is the field of ML that aims to address these needs through the development of solutions which enable data science practitioners, experts and non-experts, to efficiently create fine-tuned predictive models with minimum intervention. In this paper, we present the application of the multi-armed bandit optimization algorithm Hyperband to address the AutoML problem of generating customized classification workflows, a combination of preprocessing methods and ML algorithms including hyperparameter optimization. Experimental results comparing the bandit-based approach against Auto ML Bayesian Optimization methods show that this new approach is superior to the state-of-the-art methods in the test evaluation and equivalent to them in a statistical analysis.

PROCEEDINGS OF THE 8TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT AND TECHNOLOGIES FOR ENHANCING ACCESSIBILITY AND FIGHTING INFO-EXCLUSION (DSAI 2018)

Abstract
Objectives - This study reported in this article aimed to identify: i) the concerns of the actual research related to the application of the Design for All paradigm in the development of information technology applications to support older adults? ii) the types of applications based on information technology that are being developed according to the Design for All paradigm to support older adults; and iii) the maturity level of these applications. Methods - A systematic review was performed based on a search of the literature. Results - A total of 31 proof-of-concepts prototypes were identified targeting the following application areas: special purpose machines, virtual assistants, social networking, messaging services, intelligent environments, information services and healthcare. Conclusion - Although the studies included in this systematic review present positive impact of the application of the Design of All paradigm, there is a lack of robust trials with strong experimental evidence.

Contributions to Management Science

Abstract
Innovation is recognised as an important source of competitive advantage by both academics and managers. Nowadays, supply chain partners play a crucial part in driving many aspects of innovation, from the definition of the product concept to the launch to the market. This chapter analyzes how the relationship between supply chain management and the innovation process is addressed in the literature and discuss ways to improve the performance by means of this relationship. A bibliometric analysis—including citation and co-citation analysis—is carried out to study the intellectual structure of the topic. In the end, four literature clusters were identified, and their characteristics are discussed. © 2018, Springer International Publishing AG, part of Springer Nature.

Abstract
Information and Communication Technologies appear one of the most critical areas to the success of tourism in the future and the way it will promote the tourist destinations. This paper aims to analyze the relevance given by the various Portuguese institutions of higher education to Information and Communication Technologies in their degrees. The analysis carried out was done in degree courses operating in this academic year, 2017/2018, in Portuguese universities and polytechnics, public and private. A comparison was also made with the reality of 2012/2013, since as undergraduate degrees have been evaluated by the Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education (A3ES), often making changes, resulting from the evaluation. © 2018 AISTI.
