Replenishment System for on-line SuperStore

The scientific consultancy project SuperStore consisted of assisting a large grocery retailer in designing the new e-commerce operation. This retailer operates both bricks-and-mortar and online businesses. The latter represents a clear investment to the sector, since on the one hand it is in quick expansion, and on the other it provides low or even negative margins. In order to improve the efficiency of the operation, and hence support a sustainable growth, the processes had to be redesigned and a new facility, so-called DarkStore, was built to concentrate and supply the most important products.INESC TEC has contributed to this project, by addressing the following challenges:(1) Analyze the impact of the new operation in the support store that works together with DarkStore;
