HPC DARE: Digital Autonomy with RISC-V in Europe
The growing adoption of supercomputers and other digital innovations across sectors, from research and medicine to finance, has significantly increased reliance on specialised products for high-performance computing. However, many of these products are manufactured outside Europe, resulting in higher costs and limited accessibility for European researchers and users. The EU-funded DARE project aims to develop European-made products for European supercomputers in both research and industry, strengthening Europe’s digital autonomy in high-performance computing and AI. Building on the findings of previous related projects, the initiative will leverage advances in RISC-V and chiplet technologies to reduce costs and enhance product quality, thereby strengthening Europe’s leadership in high-performance computing and AI.
