Robotics and automation for weeding and selective harvesting.

Work description

The main objective is to study, design, and validate robotic solutions that allow for the automation of weeding and selective harvesting operations, within the context of the AgroBoost project, contributing to increased efficiency and sustainability of agricultural operations. The work involves three main phases: • Study and analysis of existing robotic solutions, identifying functional and technological requirements suitable for the context of orchards; • Development and integration of an automation solution in the Modular-E robot, including mechanical design, perception and control systems; • Testing and validation in a real-world environment, evaluating the system's performance in terms of accuracy, reliability, and operational impact. This research aims to advance the state of the art in agricultural robotics, promoting the transition to smart and sustainable agricultural practices in the context of orchards.
