Work description

(1) Perform a requirements survey and definition of all HW components for the creation of a collaborative robotic cell that allows to feed automatic sewing machines dedicated to the hem sewing operation; (2) carry out the development of perception and grasping algorithms that allow a robotic manipulator to pick up a textile and feed it to an automatic sewing machine, with some degree of precision. (3) carry out the horizontal integration between the robotic system and the sewing machine, and the respective operator interface.

Academic Qualifications

PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering or similar

Minimum profile required

Knowledge of industrial robotics, in particular in the development of 2D and 3D perception algorithms, and the automatic generation of object grasping positions; Previous experience programming industrial manipulators.

Preference factors

Knowledge in ROS. Previous experience in research projects in the field of industrial robotics and manipulators.
