Abstract
This chapter aims to analyze and map the behaviors and strategies employed by organizations recognized for their innovation, with the goal of developing a comprehensive innovation management framework. This framework is designed to merge innovation practices with elements of traditional management, creating a hybrid model to support companies, universities, and research institutes in fostering innovation. Rooted in an understanding of human evolution, the framework will reflect changes in needs, skills, and behaviors over time, enabling institutions to adapt their innovation strategies to align with societal and individual development. Adopting an interdisciplinary approach, it will integrate concepts from innovation, organizational management, and the human sciences to establish a structure that supports sustainable innovation while addressing contemporary challenges. © 2025, IGI Global Scientific Publishing.

Abstract
Non-formal education seeks to address the limitations of formal education that do not reach all communities and do not provide all new competencies and capabilities that are essential for the integrated development of communities. The role of non-formal education becomes even more relevant in the context of developing countries where significant asymmetries in access to education emerge. This study adopts the Solutions Story Tracker provided by the Solutions Journalism Network to identify and explore solutions based on journalism stories in the non-formal education field. A total of 256 stories are identified and categorized into 14 dimensions. The findings reveal that practical, participatory, and volunteering dimensions are the three most common dimensions in these non-formal education initiatives. Furthermore, two emerging dimensions related to empowerment and sustainability are identified, allowing us to extend the theoretical knowledge in the non-formal education field. These conclusions are relevant for establishing public policies that can involve greater participation by local communities in non-formal education and for addressing sustainability challenges through bottom-up initiatives.

A platform sandbox for the assessment of municipal sustainable development goals

Abstract
PurposeThis study aims to present an innovative sandbox platform that implements a decision support system (DSS) to assess the sustainable development goals (SDGs) addressed at the municipal level. It intends to determine the relative importance of each SDG in municipalities and explore the synergies that can be discovered among them. Design/methodology/approachParticipatory action research is used to develop a DSS and an algorithm designated as discrete heavy fuzzy was also developed, which extends the Apriori algorithm to include discrete quantitative assessments of the level of SDG compliance by each project. A scenario consisting of three municipalities in Portugal (i.e. Porto, Loule and Castelo de Vide) was chosen to demonstrate the implementation of the sandbox platform and to interpret the observed results. FindingsThe results reveal significant differences in the typology of SDGs addressed by each municipality. It was found that municipal sustainable projects are strongly influenced by the contextual factors of each municipality. Porto has projects that address the first five SDGs. Loule appears projects that promote innovation, the fight against climate change and the development of sustainable cities. Castelo de Vida has initiatives related to innovation and infrastructure and decent work and economic growth. Research limitations/implicationsThis study provides knowledge about the relative importance of the SDGs in Portuguese municipalities and explores the synergies among them. The proposed sandbox platform fills the gaps of the ODSlocal Webtool by proposing a dynamic and interactive approach for the exploration of quantitative indicators regarding the implementation status of the SDGs established in the 2030 Agenda. Originality/valueThis study provides knowledge about the relative importance of the SDGs and the various synergies that exist between them considering the Portuguese municipalities. The sandbox platform presented and developed within this study allows filling the gaps of the ODSlocal Webtool that gathers essentially qualitative information about each project and offers a dynamic and interactive exploration with quantitative indicators of the implementation status of the SDGs established in the 2030 Agenda.

Beyond the Click: The Evolution of Digital Marketing and Its Ethical Dilemmas

Abstract
Digital marketing has become an integral part of the modern business landscape, revolutionizing the way companies promote their products and interact with their customers. In this essay, we aim to demonstrate how it can be related to an increased tendency for mental health problems and other societal complications, as well as developing insights into its evolution using the latest breakthroughs in technology. This study will provide an overview of the impacts of digital marketing on companies, and in society, resorting to classical literature, as well as recent studies and articles conducted on the matter. An online survey was developed to support our research, reaching 112 Portuguese participants. The scientific methodology used was the Chi-Square test, with a confidence margin of 95% targeting two focus groups, one with their ages comprised within 16-25 years old and the other from 35 to 50 years old. We perceived that there would be behavioral differences between people who were born in the digital marketing age and those who had to adapt to it. We also provided some possible solutions to the problems raised by digital marketing and explained how these issues could be exacerbated with the renaissance technology is facing recently.

Entity-Relationship Mapping of 184 SME Internationalization Success Determinants for AI Feature Engineering: Integrating CSR, Deep Learning, and Stakeholder Insights

Abstract
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is increasingly shaping the pathways of Small Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). This study presents an entity-relationship diagram (ERD) approach to 184 determinants of SME internationalization success, in order to provide structured inputs for Deep Learning (DL) Recommenders that can support CSR-aligned internationalization strategies. Employing Visual Paradigm 17.2 Professional software for modeling, the research synthesizes state-of-the-art findings on foreign market entry, and export performance, into ERDs. Then the market adoption drivers for such a DL tool are explored through semi-structured interviews with twelve stakeholders. The results reveal a propensity to adopt the DL recommender, with experts highlighting essential features for engagement, pricing, and implementation. The discussion contextualizes these findings, while the conclusion addresses gaps and future directions. The study's focus in Portugal/Germany may limit worldwide extrapolation, yet it advances knowledge by consolidating success determinants, validating platform requirements, exposing gaps, and suggesting research in both CSR, AI and SME internationalization.
