2016 11TH IBERIAN CONFERENCE ON INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGIES (CISTI)

Abstract
Port authorities have the need to manage diverse information within the port area under its responsibility regarding their land and sea infrastructures. Through this innovation, which adds value to the port and its activity, it is made an interconnection of strategic areas, with the provision and sharing of structured data in a georeferenced environment. This work presents an innovative platform, based on various modules and allows effective control and efficient management of operations, processes and requirements associated with any sea port. The developed modules are designed to support the activities of business processes in the following areas of the port administration: Heritage, Hydrography, Port Traffic, Dominial, Studies and Works, Safety and Environment. Most of these modules were pioneers in the integration with business process management of portuguese ports of Leixoes and Viana do Castelo.

Abstract
SDIs allow the gathering of technical and organizational elements needed to enable the usage of territorial based information in an interoperable way. However, the cost of managing an SDI is high and the expertise level required is too specialized which, combined, hamper its maintenance and operation. This work, still in progress, presents a proposal for a manager for a regional level SDI, free software based, following the European INSPIRE (Infrastructure for Spatial Information in the European Community) directive principles and complying with OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium) standards. This CMS (Content Management System) for the SDI will shield the user from the inherent complexity and ease the creation of innovative services and the integration of cross-sectorial applications for a given region, using the geographic information generated by each municipality, as well as provide data for sibling SDIs (inter regional) and parent SDIs (supra regional).

PROCEEDINGS OF THE 2013 8TH IBERIAN CONFERENCE ON INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGIES (CISTI 2013)

Abstract
Recent developments in the areas of augmented reality, 360 degrees panoramas, social networks and geographical information systems enable the development of new solutions, which can contribute to several areas. This paper presents a new, Unity3D [8] based framework for the development of immersive augmented reality solutions and 360 degrees panoramas. This solution allows the aggregation of spatial information from disparate and heterogeneous sources, comprising the visualization of points of interest (POIs), image overlays (photographs), 3D objects and navigation between panoramas. This framework also features a strong multiplatform (web and mobile) component, and the possibility of developing new functional modules that can be easily plugged in. A prototype based on this solution, for geomarketing, is also presented.

2016 11TH IBERIAN CONFERENCE ON INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGIES (CISTI)

Abstract
This paper presents a PhD thesis proposal in Informatics Engineering, scheduled for completion in July 2018. This PhD thesis is part of Spatio-Temporal Information Systems, with applicability in technological communication tools and visual representation of knowledge, for Digital Media (newspapers, radio and television). It is intended to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the value of heterogeneous, multivariate, multidimensional information characteristic of this context, produced and shared by different sources, in different formats. It is hoped that participation in this Doctoral Symposium will enrich and update the work in progress and help the preparation of the PhD thesis proposal.

Abstract
"The Fifth Empire" is a single-player action adventure game in 2D. Centering around an adaptation of the myth the Fifth Empire (Nebuchadnezzar's dream and its interpretation by prophet Daniel) [1] is an epic allegory of the human condition, with a reinterpretation of European and Portuguese history as backdrop. This is a project that is still in process, which main goal is the development of an attractive videogame, with a strong and enriched educational purpose, since the game takes place in a real and historical setting. Moreover, through entertainment, the game should promote curiosity about the Portuguese history and motivate a more detailed study by the target audience.
