Abstract
The purpose of this study is to confirm the structural validity of the Questionario de Estilos Educativos Parentais (QEEP) in a sample of Portuguese adolescents. This instrument is an adaptation of the Parenting Scales to the Portuguese population and intends to evaluate adolescents' perceptions of the rearing style of their parents. It is composed of 19 items related with two dimensions: Acceptance (Responsiveness) and Monitoring (Supervision). The sample has comprised 210 boys and 213 girls aged from 12 to 15 years. A two-dimensional model has emerged from confirmatory factorial analysis - Acceptance, similar to the original subscale, and Knowledge, composed by some items from the Monitoring dimension. Internal consistency coefficients are acceptable for research purposes.

ACTA MEDICA PORTUGUESA

Abstract
The human possibility of becoming old - the so called Nestor Effect -, as an evolutionary adaptation, is beneficial only if there is some preservation of a certain cognitive character. Differing neuropathological conditions, such as neurodegenerative diseases, due to an abnormal aggregation of certain proteins, may induce chronic inflammatory processes. As so, physical activity increases aerobic fitness and the brain's blood flow capacity, contributing to the decrease of the central nervous system's chronic inflammation, promoting neuroplasticity, and neural circuitry's reorganisation.

Abstract
The creation process in digital art relies often on collaborations between an artist (or group of artists) and a multidisciplinary team. This collaboration implies a multidisciplinary work involving art, science, technology, design, psychology, etc. that come together by sharing a common communicational and informational space. In this essay we bring into discussion how the creation process cycle in digital art could be instantiated and applied for the development of serious games through end-user purposes of both creative authors: the digital artists and the serious games developers. We realise a comprehensive analysis of this creation process in digital art, specially the aesthetic musing activity, while devising how it could be helpful to introduce new engaging stimulus in the creative process of serious games. © 2010 International Federation for Information Processing.
