Description

Interference Aware Transmission Power Control for wireless network based in directional antennas

IA-TPC is a transmission power management software that can improve the performance of wireless communication networks based on directional antennas up to 80% by taking into account interferences. Developed for scenarios with high density of users and for legacy compatibility, IA-TPC will allow the development of better products and services in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) field, especially in the context of the Internet- of-Things (IoT). Thus, IA-TPC technology is perfectly aligned with the priority domain of ICT, contributing to significant gains to 3 main areas of action of the National Strategy for Intelligent Specialization (ENEI), as well as the domain of human capital and specialized services and respective topic of the Strategy of the North Region of Intelligent Specialization (RIS3). The IA-TPC?s unique features, namely the innovative power management method of directional networks and the capability of predicting interference, will allow the development of tradable and knowledge-intensive goods for the ICT Industry. The main target markets for the IA-TPC technology are wireless communication networks, including 5G networks. These are global markets with compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.5% in the period between 2014 and 2020 and characterized by high competition and intensive use of intellectual property rights, namely patents. In this sense, this project aims at financing an international patent application (PCT) and its respective national validations in the largest world markets in order to enhance the economic return and societal impact ty of IA-TPC technology.Project datasheet
