With over 25 years of experience in data and artificial intelligence, Ana Costa e Silva has been driving digital transformation through AI across four continents and multiple industries. Recognized for advocating the strategic value of artificial intelligence in diverse business contexts, she has spoken at renowned academic and industry conferences worldwide.

For more than a decade, she reported directly to Chief Officers (CDO, CTO, among others) in large-scale organizations headquartered in the United Kingdom, United States, and France.

In her most recent international role, Ana served as Global Chief Data Scientist at a Fortune 500 company, where she led global teams in developing data and AI-driven products, defined Responsible AI practices, and selected strategic cloud toolkits for organization-wide adoption. Her work resulted in a 25% increase in commercial win rates and a 50% reduction in delivery times for complex projects, including pioneering and widely recognized GenAI solutions.

Ana holds a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Edinburgh (2010), a Master’s in Data Analysis and Decision Support Systems (2004), and a Bachelor’s in Management (1998) from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Porto. She combines deep technical expertise with strategic leadership to foster sustainable innovation.

After an accomplished international career, she returned to Portugal, where she is currently AI Strategist at INESC TEC, one of the country’s leading institutions in research and technological innovation. In parallel, she works as a strategic AI consultant for several organizations, focusing on GenAI projects, AI ethics, and organizational capability building.
