Work description
The work plan for this scholarship includes the following main activities: - Research and development of data tiering mechanisms: design and implementation of new data tiering solutions for AI training that take advantage of different types of storage available in cloud computing or HPC infrastructures. - Research and development of storage quality of service solutions: design and implementation of solutions that improve the utilization of shared storage resources for AI training in distributed infrastructures such as cloud computing and HPC environments. - Experimental evaluation: validation of the developed features through experimental testing, assessing the performance and efficiency of the solution in comparison with existing approaches.
Academic Qualifications
- MSc Degree in Informatics Engineering.
Minimum profile required
- Solid knowledge of data storage systems, namely file systems or block-oriented systems.- Proven experience with data tiering solutions, supported by technical evidence (code repositories, projects, functional prototypes, papers, or theses), including public URLs for the same, or by submitting them as an attachment to the application.- Proven experience in developing storage solutions optimized for AI training, supported by technical evidence (code repositories, projects, functional prototypes, papers, or theses), including public URLs for the same, or by submitting them as an attachment to the application.
Preference factors
- Experience with the C++ programming language. - Experience with RPC libraries, namely the Mercury library.
