Research Opportunities

Scientific research and development in the field of Wireless Networks.

Work description

The selected candidate will join a research team in the field of Wireless Networks, contributing to the design, implementation, and optimization of on-demand communications solutions for demanding scenarios, using robotic platforms. Contributions are also expected in the development of new digital models for wireless network simulation, as well as software developments aligned with the creation of Network Digital Twins, promoting the repeatability and reproducibility of scientific results, even in challenging scenarios Main Tasks include: - Carry out scientific research in the field of Wireless Networks, aligned with emerging wireless network scenarios, including mobile base stations based on open-source software and SDR hardware, convergence between communications and sensing, Network Digital Twins, and the native use of AI for the creation of increasingly efficient, autonomous, and adaptable communications systems (including the use of robotic platforms) for extreme environments. - Support the coordination and execution of R&D projects, including the SUPERIOT, OVERWATCH, PRODUTECH R3, NEXUS, HURRICANE, and PLURIANUAL-LA projects, as well as the execution of associated technical activities. - Carry out scientific research aimed at publication in international journals and conferences, as well as mentoring junior researchers and coordinating and participating in scientific and technological dissemination initiatives. - Support the preparation of R&D project proposals and knowledge valorization activities, including the exploitation of intellectual property. - Support the maintenance and expansion of CTM’s research support infrastructure (software and hardware), including web tools and mobile testbeds.
