Laser direct writing and machining
Work description
The work aims at the development of integrated optical devices for sensing applications, fabricated by femtosecond laser direct writing. The fabrication process involves the direct writing of waveguides in various types of glasses or crystals, as well as their optimization in order to obtain waveguides with low propagation and coupling losses. The fabrication may also include the micromachining of glass substrates by three-dimensional machining through erosion in aqueous solutions (FLICE – Femtosecond Laser Induced Chemical Etching) for fluid manipulation.
