Evaluation of strategies to promote academic success in higher education
Work description
1. Contextualisation of the educational landscape in the European Union and Portugal. Characterise the context of higher education, focusing on dropout rates and academic success in the European Union and Portugal. 2. Literature review. Review existing literature on factors influencing dropout and academic success, and on the use of quantitative methods for data analysis in higher education (statistical methods, machine learning models, optimisation models, econometric models or forecasting methods). 3. Identification of knowledge gaps. Define the research problem that the dissertation will address and potential contributions to existing scientific literature.
Academic Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering and Management.
Minimum profile required
Average mark of 18 in the Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering and Management.
Preference factors
Attendance of Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering and Management. Good knowledge of the English language. The letter of motivation must be written in English to allow the assessment of the candidate’s English proficiency and motivation.
