Work description
• Review the state of the art on transparent metasurfaces, Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS), and transparent conductive technologies based on metal-mesh structures. • Design and optimize, through full-wave electromagnetic simulations, a transparent unit cell operating in the FR3 frequency band. • Investigate the integration of memristive switching devices and develop the corresponding biasing network. • Fabricate and assemble a proof-of-concept prototype on a glass substrate. • Experimentally characterize the electromagnetic performance of the prototype and compare the results with electromagnetic simulations • Assess the feasibility of the proposed solution and identify the main technological challenges towards the development of large-area transparent reconfigurable metasurfaces.
