Efficiency analysis and productivity

Work description

The work plan is centred on benchmarking European education systems using frontier methods (Data Envelopment Analysis, Stochastic Frontier Analysis), possibly complemented by multi-criteria analysis techniques and data science models (statistical or artificial intelligence methods). A temporal analysis of trends in the performance of education systems will be carried out, considering the dimensions of efficiency, effectiveness and equity. The research aims to obtain robust metrics that can be used to support the design of public policies to improve performance in the education sector. The research should be published in scientific journals, preferably indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science databases. The scholarship activity report should be prepared at the end of the scholarship period.

Academic Qualifications

Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Management or related field.

Minimum profile required

Publication of 4 articles in journals classified in the areas of "Business, Management and Accounting", "Decision Sciences" or "Economics, Econometrics and Finance" in the Scimago Journal and Coutry Rank, with classification in the 1st Quartile (Q1) in at least one category that integrates these areas, in the reference year 2022.Good knowledge of spoken and written English.

Preference factors

- Research experience in methods for analysing efficiency and productivity; - Publication of articles in the area of Frontier Methods, with applications in the public sector; - Participation in R&D and/or consultancy projects in areas relevant to the work plan to be carried out.
