Cutting and Packing Problems
[Open soon]
Work description
- Develop artificial intelligence and metaheuristic algorithms for automatic product recognition and picking in warehouse environments; - Design and implement bin-picking systems supported by computer vision (product detection and localization); - Develop a mosaic generation ("product-to-bin") system for internal packing planning of shipping boxes containing mixed-SKU products, maximizing volumetric usage and reducing the transport of empty space; - Integrate collision detection and avoidance mechanisms between the robot, products and boxes, ensuring product integrity during picking and packing; - Test, validate and tune the developed solutions in a laboratory environment and, at a later stage, in a real operational context (industrial pilot); - Contribute to the project's scientific output (technical reports and possible publications).
