Work description

Advanced User Support (including Levels 2 and 3) – The core role will involve providing specialised technical assistance, with a focus on code optimisation and the resolution of performance bottlenecks, as well as the adaptation and optimisation of applications for specific architectures, with the aim of achieving significant improvements in operational efficiency; Support for User Training – Responsibilities will include the development of comprehensive educational materials and the coordination of practical training sessions, with the main objective of empowering users in the use of machine learning and deep learning frameworks, promoting autonomy and deeper knowledge; Support for Communication and Dissemination – The central role will be to establish transparent communication channels between the support team and users. Assisting in the active dissemination of results, achievements, and available resources will be essential to promote the visibility of the project and encourage active community participation; Coordination and support of R&D projects and knowledge valorisation activities, preparation of applications for R&D projects, team management and supervision of junior researchers, scientific production aimed at international journals and conferences, engagement with scientific and professional communities, as well as coordination and participation in scientific and technological dissemination initiatives, particularly in the areas of Computer Vision and Machine Learning.

Academic Qualifications

Master in Electrical and Computing Engineering.

Minimum profile required

- Final degree classification equal to or higher than 18 out of 20;- Proven competence and experience in the development of machine learning and deep learning models in HPC environments;- Experience in the application of machine learning and deep learning techniques in the specific field of image analysis;- Practical experience with Linux systems, HPC environments, and SLURM job submission systems;- Proficiency in written and spoken Portuguese and English.

Preference factors

- Solid experience with distributed computing management systems and High Performance Computing environments; - Experience with the Python programming language and the use of deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and NVIDIA FLARE; -Experience in writing technical and scientific documentation.
