Work description

The selected candidate will integrate the Biomedical Engineering research team at C-BER in a transversal way supporting in several research activities related to the development of new biomedical signal processing models as well as feature extraction and classification according to the scope of study. The candidate will work on several physiological signals such as electrocardiogram, plethysmography, body temperature, inertial data, among others, aiming to develop physiological metrics. As part of a European project, this is an attractive opportunity for any student in the field of biomedical engineering who wishes to deepen their knowledge and join a research and development team. The writing of scientific articles and participation in scientific conferences or meetings abroad may also be part of the activities carried out by the candidate for scientific dissemination of the results obtained.

Academic Qualifications

Bachelor in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computers or other similar areas.

Minimum profile required

The candidate should have good knowledge in pre-processing, analysis and processing of biomedical signals, development of machine learning algorithms (kNN, SVM, PCA, among others) and should already have prior knowledge/experience in the analysis of physiological signals.

Preference factors

Good knowledge of biomedical signal processing techniques for feature extraction. Previous activity in the analysis of electrocardiogram, electromyogram and/or inertial data signals.
