STAYAWAY COVID available for download

STAYAWAY COVID, the Portuguese COVID-19 contact tracing app, is now available for iOS and Android mobile phones, completely free of charge. INESC TEC coordinated the consortium in charge of developing the STAYAWAY COVID, officially launched on September 1, at an event that featured Prime Minister António Costa. This application strengthens to the Portuguese resources against the pandemic, focusing on a quick return to normality.

INESC TEC participates in European project to measure the concentration of radioactive gas in the atmosphere

INESC TEC’s Centre for Information Systems and Computer Graphics (CSIG) is part of a new European project that focuses on measuring the amount of radon gas in the atmosphere, for radiological and climate protection purposes. The project is called traceRadon – Radon metrology for use in climate change observation and radiation protection at the environmental level, and the kick-off meeting took place on July 9 and 10

INESC TEC researcher wins contest with «augmented book» project

It won’t be a traditional book, but it won’t be an e-book either. It will support a learning model with innovative characteristics. This is the idea behind the “Augmented Book for the Creative Introduction to Programming”, a project by António Coelho, from INESC TEC’s Centre for Information Systems and Computer Graphics (CSIG), one of the winners of the competition for “Pedagogical Innovation Projects”, part of the “Promoting Pedagogical Excellence” programme by the University of Porto.

World expert present in the closure of project dedicated to medical simulation

The closing session of the project SIMPROVE – Medical Simulation Centre of the Future, which brought together FMUP, INESC TEC and the company STI-Medical, was attended by Guid Oei, professor at the Eindhoven University of Technology (the Netherlands), an expert in the medical simulation area applied to Obstetrics and member of a consortium that won EUR 2.9 million for the development of an artificial uterus prototype.
