This innovative technology presents ecological indices in an integrated way, such as water and energy consumptions, wastes and any other waste coming from production processes.
Designed for the Internet, the ECOPLANNER is the first Portuguese eco-efficiency software and it can be used to identify alternatives with a lower environmental impact, always seeking to reduce production costs.
Presented publically at the Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering of Porto (INESC TEC), the new technology is the result of the partnership between INESC TEC, ECOINSIDE and the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), with the support of the BCSD Portugal – Business Council for Sustainable Development.
The
project will be tested by SORGAL, a Portuguese company that produces animal
feed.
