Sónia is an innovation consultant and researcher at the Centre for Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship (CITE) at INESC TEC – Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering, Technology and Science. She is deeply committed to driving real-world impact through actionable research in technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation, grounded in a strong foundation of strategy and management.
She has over 11 years of experience in IT consulting, having contributed to a wide range of sectors including Healthcare, Legal, Pharmaceutical, Public Services, and IT Services. Her career in this domain has been defined by data-driven leadership, with a focus on strategic planning, business development, and continuous innovation.
For more than 5 years, Sónia has also worked as a founder within the entrepreneurial ecosystem, bringing a hands-on perspective to innovation processes and business development, effectively bridging academic research with real-world application.
She holds an MSc in Innovation and Technological Entrepreneurship from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) and is a PhD student in Management at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto (FEP).
Sónia seeks operational efficiency alongside long-term sustainability, as she endeavours to create a better society by identifying emerging opportunities, technologies, and markets, and by leveraging forward-thinking strategies to drive growth.
