Work description
- review the state of the art in emerging wireless networks, with a focus on O-RAN and airborne networks, including AI and digital twin based approaches; - collaborate in the preparation of technical reports on the algorithms, mechanisms, models, or protocols developed; - develop new software modules and prototypes enabling simulation and experimentation of airborne wireless communications solutions; - contribute to co-authored scientific publications within the scope of the work developed; - prepare the research grant activity report.
Academic Qualifications
MSc in Electrical Engineering, Informatics Engineering, or similar
Minimum profile required
- solid knowledge of 5G mobile networks, O-RAN, and TCP/IP stack;- experience with Linux-based development environments;- proven experience with AI and programming in C++ or Python;- experience with airborne-based systems;- proven hands-on research experience in the area of Wireless Networks/Telecommunications.
Preference factors
- knowledge in discrete event-driven simulation, especially with ns-3; - experience with Open RAN software, such as OpenAirInterface, including the integration of commercial or Software Defined Radio (SDR)-based Radio Units (RUs); - experience using Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning applied to the wireless networks area.
