Work description
The work, to be developed during this grant, has the main goal of designing new software mechanisms that allow testing and validating Machine Learning models for detecting ransomware attacks that intend to compromise the security of operating systems. In addition to the design of the aforementioned mechanisms, these must be implemented into a proof-of-concept prototype that must be experimentally validated. The tasks described in this working plan demand the application and development of concepts and techniques in the area of Software Engineering which are usually introduced in curricular units included in the curricula of the Mestrados Integrados em Engenharia Informática ou de Mestrado em Engenharia Informática studies.
Academic Qualifications
BSc Degree in Informatics Engineering Sciences.
Minimum profile required
- Knowledge on operating systems;- Knowledge on ransomware attacks;- Knowledge on Machine Learning models for detecting ransomware.
Preference factors
- Experience on using I/O diagnosing and profiling tools.
