Work description

- Support INESC TEC teams with regard to the maintenance of onboard and mission equipment.

Academic Qualifications

Nationals, foreigners, and stateless persons with valid and current registration as a Seafarer in the Master's level, 1st class practical Machinist category, as attested by a Seafarer's Single Document or a current Maritime Certificate, can apply for the competition. and whose professional CV reveals that they have a profile suitable for the activity to be carried out.

Minimum profile required

Valid and current registration as a Seafarer in the Master´s level, 1st class practical Machinist category;- Physical and mental fitness to carry out the activity - professional, proven through a valid medical certificate, in accordance with Decree-Law nº 166/2019 of October 31st.- Boarding time of no less than 12 months as engine manager on national coastal navigation vessels, coastal tugboats, or coastal auxiliary vessels, being qualified to serve as engine manager on vessels with internal combustion propulsion machines with powers up to 3000 kW, under the terms of Decree-Law nº 166/2019 of October 31st.- Solid experience in the field of marine mechanics.

Preference factors

FP1- Navigation experience on research ships and/or ships with a strong technological component, involving projection and collection of scientific equipment; FP2- Experience with Volvo marine engines and, in particular, the D8 line FP3- Experience in driving and maintaining hydraulic equipment. FP4- General experience of preventive and corrective maintenance of onboard systems (rudder, sewage, firefighting) and their equipment and components. FP5- Residence in the Leixões Marina area, the ship's base port.
