Work description
Selecting the minutes of city council meetings for the dataset; Annotate the dataset of city council meeting minutes with semantic information (events, participants, time expressions and opinions of participants); Produce summaries and simplifications of the minutes based on the annotation carried out and the manual developed; Verify the results of the LLM models developed by the computer science team for tasks such as event identification, position detection, simplification and summarization of text in European Portuguese; Collaborate with the communication and computer science team to assess the impact of the prototype for converting free-text data into structured data; Actively participate in the project’s dissemination activities; Writing and collaborating on the publication of scientific articles; Actively participate in project meetings.
Academic Qualifications
Degree in language sciences or modern languages and literatures
Minimum profile required
MSc student in Linguistics, with the first year of the program completed;Proficiency in the Portuguese language (spoken and written) in the European variety, demonstrated by a C2 level diploma according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages or as a native language. This requirement is essential, as the project involves annotation in European Portuguese using a diverse set of documents in the language;Relevant experience in semantic annotation in European Portuguese;Successful completion of at least one subject in Semantics during the first year of the master's program;Fluency in English (spoken and written);Communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a team.
Preference factors
Familiarity with annotation tools, such as Inception.
