Work description
The work plan for this grant includes the following main activities: 1. Study and design of the persistence mechanism: review of the state of the art and definition of the optimizer state persistence mechanism. 2. Development of the mechanism: implementation of the persistence prototype and processing of the optimizer state. 3. Experimental evaluation: validation of the implemented mechanism and performance evaluation using benchmarks. The tasks described in this work plan require the application and development of concepts and techniques from the areas of Computer Engineering, typically taught in courses that form the core of the Computer Engineering curriculum.
Academic Qualifications
- BSc Degree in Informatics Engineering or similar.
Minimum profile required
- Solid knowledge of distributed systems.- Solid knowledge of query optimizers.- Hands-on experience with SQL.
Preference factors
- Experience with Apache Calcite.
