Work description

- Design and implementation of a benchmarking tool for replaying realistic traces over HPC file systems. - Experimental evaluation of the developed prototype in production-ready file systems (e.g., MACC, AIST, TACC) under both synthetic and realistic workloads. The tasks described in this working plan demand the application and development of concepts and techniques in the area of Software Engineering which are usually introduced in curricular units included in the curricula of the Master's in Informatics Engineering studies.

Academic Qualifications

Enrolled in the Master's in Informatics Engineering.

Minimum profile required

- Solid knowledge on parallel and distributed file systems (e.g., Lustre);- Solid knowledge on file system benchmarking;- Solid knowledge on distributed systems.

Preference factors

- Experience with the C++ or Rust programming languages; - Experience on designing file system benchmarks.
