Work description
The work plan will be developed in collaboration with INESC TEC's distributed storage systems group and includes the following main tasks: - Research in the areas of software-defined storage systems, I/O optimizations and benchmarking. Application of the previous research for solving I/O challenges of current HPC centers; - Attracting and supervising new researchers and students (bachelor, master, doctorate); - Elaboration of proposals for national and international projects, and participation in funded projects; - Coordination of the group's international collaborations with other researchers, and establishment of new collaborations.
Academic Qualifications
PhD degree in Computer Engineering
Minimum profile required
Doctorates with little or no post-doctoral research experience in the scientific area to which they apply.
Preference factors
Scientific production (i.e., publications, prototypes, etc.) in the areas of storage systems and distributed systems; Research experience on the HPC field and on the software-defined storage paradigm; Participation, possibly including positions of responsibility, in research and development projects; Supervision of other researchers. Collaboration with national and international researchers.
