Work description
Identify the specific tasks for the LIAAD team. Survey the state of the art in NLP for clinical text, specifically in Portuguese. Assess the existing NLP tools at INESC TEC. Setup the clinical NLP pipeline. Propose new solutions. Integrate with other data sources. Evaluate. Communicate regularly with the whole project team. Define tasks for supervised students. write and supervise scientific papers publication. Supervise Product demos and prototypes.
Academic Qualifications
PhD in Computer Science or related areas
Minimum profile required
Strong motivation to work with NLP algorithms and tools; Background and experience with NLP; Good communication skills in English; Shown ability of writing scientific papers in English; Knowledge of programming languages Python and R; Motivation to co-coordinate students and projects.
Preference factors
Being able to use Portuguese as a language of study is important.Strong publications in NLP, Knowledge of Python and development tools (e.g. GIT).
