The closing meeting of the BEinCPPS project – Business Experiments in Cyber-Physical Production Systems was held in Brussels on 12 December. It aimed at promoting the implementation of cyber-physical production systems in Small and Medium-Sized enterprises (SME).

Luís Filipe Valente, researcher of INESC TEC’s Centre for Enterprise Systems Engineering (CESE), coordinates the team that won the Global Marketing Competition, also composed by Maria João Campos and Bruno Silva. They won a EUR 6 000 award and also an MBA for each one of the team members.

The article "Prediction of journey destination for travellers of urban public transport: a comparison model study” was awarded the Best Paper Award at the “INTSYS 2018 - 2nd EAI International Conference on Intelligent Transport Systems”, which took place between 21 and 23 November in Guimarães.

The StoSS project was promoted by INESC TEC's Centre for Enterprise Systems Engineering (CESE). Its main objective is the broad study of sectorisation problems and the development of a decision support system that can support decision making concerning sectorisation. The official kick-off meeting took place at INESC TEC on 16 October.

This month, INESC TEC’s Centre for Enterprise Systems Engineering (CESE) ended the MANTIS: Cyber Physical System based Proactive Collaborative Maintenance project, which involved 47 partners distributed by 11 European countries in over three years (led by Mondragon Goi Eskola Politeknikoa J.M.A. S.Coop.).

Five technological solutions, two used in the forest and three used in the agriculture, representing a total investment of around EUR 7.4 million, were exhibited in Agroglobal 2018, the largest agricultural fair in Portugal that took place in Valada do Ribatejo (Santarém) between 5 and 7 September.

A team of researchers from INESC TEC visited the Biomass Centre for Energy (CBE) in Miranda do Corvo on 12 July. CBE is an association that was created in 1988, whose mission is to contribute to the energy diversification, promoting the use of biomass for the energy production.

The cycle «Portuguese Economy and Industry 4.0 - The path of a new industrialisation", organised by the Publishing Group Vida Económica, in collaboration with INESC TEC, promoted its fifth and last conference dedicated to the subject of «Energy, Sustainability and Science». The initiative took place on 3 July in Guimarães at the Associação Comercial e Industrial auditorium.
