INESC TEC researchers ranked second place in Hackacity

Miguel Ramalho and António Almeida, researchers of INESC TEC's Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support (LIAAD) and Centre for Information Systems and Computer Graphics (CSIG), respectively, were part of the team that achieved second place at the Hackacity 2019 event, which was held on 3 April at the Alfândega Porto Congress Center.

INESC TEC’s project helps the elderly to take medicines

The prototype of a robotic system that helps the elderly to take medicines was one of the results of the collaboration between INESC TEC’s Centre for Information Systems and Computer Graphics (CSIG) and the Superior School of Health of the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD), which took place under the NIE project - Natural Interfaces for the Elderly.

INESC TEC helps telling stories in 360º videos

Augmented Video 360 project, which was funded by Google, comes to an endIn 2017, under the innovation fund Digital News Initiative, Google issued a challenge that intended to stimulate the innovation in the digital journalism. INESC TEC addressed this challenge and, two years later, it presents the Augmented Video 360 – an editing and visualisation tool for 360º videos with dynamic annotations in order to improve narratives -, thus making the act of telling stores through 360º videos much easier.
