Porto Water Innovation Week with the participation of INESC TEC

INESC TEC participated in the Porto Water Innovation Week (PWIW), an initiative that transformed the city of Porto into the European capital of water and innovation, which took place between the 24th and the 30th of September at the Alfândega Porto Congress Centre.

06th October 2017

Presenting innovative projects with impact on the area of urban water, INESC TEC showcased technologies such as Mares, AnyPlace, Integrid and MTGrid, with the collaboration of SAPE (Industry Partnership Service), CTM (Centre for Telecommunications and Multimedia), CPES (Centre for Power and Energy Systems) and CRAS (Centre for Robotics and Autonomous Systems).

PWIW assembled a set of three big events, which gathered more than a 1000 participants, including managing bodies, political leaders, regulators, industry and agriculture representatives, specialised technicians, researchers, technology companies, start-ups, SMEs, funders and young professionals.
These events were EIP Water Conference 2017 (27-28 September), Mayors & Water Conference 2017 (29 September) and Water Innovation Lab Europe Porto 2017 (24-29 September).
Between the 27th and the 29th of September, during the EIP Water Conference 2017 and the Mayors & Water Conference 2017, the exhibition space of the Alfândega Porto Congress Centre worked as a meeting place for industry-leading companies in the water sector, providing new contacts and business and partnership opportunities. The exhibitors benefited from a B2B matchmaking programme, through face-to-face-meetings, pre-scheduled with potential clients and partners, within the scope of Porto Water Match, as well as from the possibility of organising business forums (Tech Talks) aimed at launching new products or services.
The cross-event initiative is called Water & People and is composed of several activities aimed at engaging citizens in the theme of water and innovation, namely street animations and performance arts in Downtown Porto, and AquaPorto – Water Festival 2017, at the City Park.
Organised by the Porto Municipality in collaboration with the Águas de Portugal Group, LNEC and the Portuguese Water Partnership, PWIW had the institutional support of the European Commission and of the Portuguese Government.
