Amongst the eight winners, Afonso Rodrigues was the only student from University of Minho, followed by students from University of Porto, Instituto Superior Técnico and University of Aveiro.

The program “Scholarships to train new talents in Quantum Technologies” pretends to stimulate in young people the interest for researching in Quantum Technologies, allowing the development of national skills in this area, especially in telecommunications, computing and metrology and quantum sensors. In addition, this program was only designed for students in the first or second cycle of studies, with or without training in Quantum Physics.

It should be noticed that this program’s scientific commission consisted on Yasser Omar, from Instituto Superior Técnico, Armando Pinto, from University of Aveiro, and José Nuno Oliveira, from University of Minho and also senior researcher at INESC TEC.

The researchers mentioned in this news piece are associated with INESC TEC and UMinho.
